Pat's Promise Donor Day event held at Zilker Park

AUSTIN -- Dozens of people met in Zilker Park Sunday to spread the word about organ donation.

The Pat's Promise Donor Day event raised awareness and signed up those willing to give the gift of life.

A liver transplant saved KVUE employee Pat Buchta's life five months ago. He says he then made a promise to help others look forward to their future, thanks to a transplant.

"You get very spiritual, I think in a sense, and learn what the human spirit is capable of. For me it wasn't just about the end result, whether I lived or died, but what you can give back to people while you're still here," Pat said.
