San Diego Charger Speaks Out To Help Save 9-Year-Old Boy In Need of Transplant

The Children's Organ Transplant Association (COTA) announced San Diego Charger Eric Weddle to speak at the Marina Village on Mission Bay in San Diego this Saturday to support local 9-year-old boy Eli Olsen and his family continue to raise an estimated $500,000 for medical procedures. 

The Children's Organ Transplant Association (COTA) announced San Diego Charger Eric Weddle to speak at the Marina Village on Mission Bay in San Diego this Saturday to support local 9-year-old boy Eli Olsen and his family continue to raise an estimated $500,000 for medical procedures. The fundraiser will help support needed surgeries including a total pancreatectomy with the hope that the transplant will relieve Eli of chronic pain.

Tickets to this event are on sale for sixty-nine dollars with proceeds benefiting Olsen’s transplant and other medical expenditures. Nine-year-old Eli suffers from hereditary pancreatitis, cystic fibrosis and celiac disease. The pending transplant recommended by the doctors at the University of Minnesota Medical Center, is the next step for Olsen and his family who have received local support from several organizations and individuals including San Diego Charger Safety, Eric Weddle who plans to speak about overcoming challenges at this week’s event.
