Donate Life Float 
Since 2004, the Donate Life Rose Parade Float has served as a memorial to organ and tissue donors and a platform for donor families, living donors and transplant recipients to inspire the world to save and heal those in need throuogh the gift of life.  Our annual participation in the Rose Parade has become America's Donate Life Celebration reaching millions with stories of healing and of hope for a second chance at life.

Like many great ideas, the Donate Life Rose Parade Float began as the inspiration of one person. Read about the float's origins and early challenges.

Donate Life's award-winning tribute to the preciousness of time brought "...One More Day" of inspiration to the world.

The Theme Trophy-winning "Seize the Day!" built dreams, friendships and memories on New Year's Day 2011.

"New Life Rises" and its soaring phoenix won the Theme Trophy for excellence in presenting the 2010 Rose Parade theme, "A Cut Above the Rest".

Donate Life's sixth parade entry showed its "star" power by winning the Queens Trophy for most effective use of roses.

Donate Life's fifth parade entry took 'Flight' by winning the Special Judges' Trophy for showmanship and dramatic impact.

On New Year's Day 2007, "Giving From The Heart" showed the very best of Our Good Nature.

Our 2006 Rose Parade float entry showed how a life touched by organ and tissue donation is a "Life Transformed".

With a parade under our belt, the second year brought new touches, a special relationship with the Kodak float, and unique pairings of rider families.

The inaugural Donate Life float created a bridge over which an extraordinary group of pioneer float riders and partners journeyed. Visit the "Newsroom" to view the photographic journal of the first year.

Six Years Running: Marathon Team Races To Raise Organ Donation Awareness

The members of Spare Parts 6, a relay team in this year's Vermont City Marathon, are running to raise awareness about organ donation. The team is part of the Transplant Donor Network, and it's the sixth year the network has had a team run the marathon They range in age from their mid-twenties to their mid-sixties. Their ranks include teachers, physicians, administrators and a former state commissioner.  Together, they make up the team Spare Parts 6 in this year’s Vermont City Marathon, and they are running for a cause: to raise awareness of organ and tissue donation throughout the state. The five relay members — Dr. Harry Chen, Dawn Bissonnette, Shaina Kaye, Dr. Bridgett Marroquin and Jean DeMaroney — are part of the Transplant Donor Network (TDN), which is affiliated with the University of Vermont Medical Center. AUSSIE SURGEONS HOPE TO PERFORM FIRST STOMACH TRANSPLANT

News 7 Melbourne | Karen O'Sullivan FIRST ON 7: Surgeons who pioneered liver transplants 25 years ago are now setting their sights on performing Australia's first stomach transplant. Professor Bob Jones, who has performed hundreds of operations, says he still believes they are a miracle. Renee Cowton was a scared ten-year-old when she became the first child liver transplant recipient in Australia. "I knew it was huge and I knew that death could happen if it didn't work," she said. Surgeon, Professor Jones from the Austin Hospital admits 25 years ago the risks were high. "We sought of thought we knew what we were doing, and we were very lucky we got away with it," Jones said. "We do it a lot better now." The operation has since been refined and thousands of lives have been saved.
