The mission of JJâs Legacy is to provide education and awareness regarding the importance of organ and tissue donation and to support donor and recipient families of Kern County on their respective journeys.
To date, funds raised through this annual event have gone towards creating PSAâs to educate Kern County residents. Through partnering with the Donate Life Ambassadors Program, we have been able to facilitate presentations at eleven local high schools and Rotary Clubs. We have had information booths at the Bakersfield Womenâs Business Conference and countless health fairs. During the past three years, JJâs Legacy has sponsored a local family to become involved with the Donate Life Rose Parade Float honoring their loved one with a flora graph. Also, we were able to grant a wish for a young girl awaiting a kidney transplant through the Make-A-Wish Foundation.
Each year JJâs Legacy continues to enhance our mission, and this year JJâs Legacy is honored to be involved with the Ford Dimension students creating a campaign to educate and inspire students in our local high schools about the importance of or organ and tissue donations. Moving forward, we are working on a Pink Dot Campaign that will encourage all to say yes and register at the DMV. With all of your support, we are making a significant difference for all of Kern County. Donate Life is an organization that can touch every single person. You have the choice to say yes and sign up to be an organ and
tissue donor and possibly save many lives!
Sincerely,

About JJ's Legacy
The 4th Annual JJâs Legacy Golf Tournament and Dinner is scheduled for March 3 and 4, 2013 at Seven Oaks Country Club in Bakersfield, CA. JJâs Legacy is a non-profit organization. As a donor mother, I was inspired by the amazing legacy that my son, Jeff Johns, was able to leave in his passing, and it became my mission to inspire others. Jeff saved 5 lives through organ donations, and enhanced 50 lives through tissue and cornea donations. There are currently over 115,000 people in the United States waiting for a lifesaving organ transplant. Tragically, however, there are over 18 people who die daily waiting for a transplant. By participating in this event, you can help bring awareness of the critical need for organ and tissue donations. Together, we can make a difference! The mission of JJâs Legacy is to provide education and awareness regarding the importance of organ and tissue donation and to support donor and recipient families of Kern County on their respective journeys.
