We welcome you to join us at the State Capitol this Friday, April 5th at 9am in the Hall of Flags to celebrate National Donate Life Month!

National Donate Life Month!
Please join Donate Life Connecticut for this annual celebration as we honor those who gave the gift of organ and tissue donation, celebrate those that received an organ transplant, help those that are still waiting to receive (over 1,300 people in Connecticut) and remember those that died waiting. Guest speakers include DMV Commissioner Currey, Representative James Albis, Representative Perillo, as well as Jaime Lazarus, a young woman who has a unique perspective on organ and tissue donation.

Immediately following the celebratory remarks, Donate Life Connecticut will be awarding the winners of the 2013
Donate Life High School Art Contest! 
Over the past 23 years, thousands have participated in the annual art contest - bringing donation education to high school students. Come celebrate the students in YOUR community! There is a winner awarded from each participating school and overall winners are unveiled at this event!

Nina donated a portion of her liver to her older cousin, likely saving her life. Over the last year, Jennifer Carrino had come back from the brink of death, survived internal bleeding and spent weeks in intensive care. Then came the hard part: asking her cousin for a part of her liver. In April, doctors told Jennifer that without a transplant she probably had a year to live. Jennifer, 37, was already on transplant waiting lists in two states, but it was going to take too long, they said. She needed to think about a living donor.
