After a family members dies, the decision to donate their organs can be one of the most difficult a family can make.
April is "donate life" month. On Monday, Mercy Medical Center brought together several families affected by organ donation, to share their stories.
They also raised a flag along the street, which encourages people to "donate life." Many become organ donors after they die, but Curt Green says he's lucky to have a donor, who's still alive.
"If I ask you for five bucks, it's a pretty good chance that you're going to get it back, but if I ask you for an organ, you're not going to get it back, and there's just everything that could go wrong, you know. So, he came to me and I was speechless," said Curt Green, a kidney recipient.
Paul and Aimee Clancy's daughter, Jennifer, died of a seizure when she was just 25 years old. They wrestled with the decision to donate her organs, but they eventually did. Now, they've seen the impact of that donation in dozens of people.
