TEMECULA â" By this time of the year most people have either forgotten or given up on their New Yearâs resolution. While most people focus on something they believe they can achieve Tim Sweeney, 48, has aimed for something everyone has said is crazy.
Sweeneyâs New Yearâs resolution is to get every man, woman, and child in Temecula to become registered organ donors before he dies from the terminal illness he has. Considering the current population of Temecula is more than 100,000 people, it is almost impossible that one man could accomplish this, but the City of Temecula has already begun helping him accomplish that goal.
The City of Temecula will be presenting a series of monthly shows starting at The Mercantile Theatre, known as The Merc, starring Tim Sweeney. While everyone seems to be trying to sing and dance their way into reality show fame he will be taking a very different route.
Sweeney will be doing a series of unique theatre-based, real life comical story telling, fireside chat shows that have already captured peopleâs attention. His first two shows were not only packed with people from Temecula and the surrounding cities but other people traveled for hours to see the show. The series is set to begin on March 1.
Sweeney, who has mentored thousands of music artists, film makers, actors and book authors over the last 30 years, was encouraged by well-known music artist Sherry Williams who booked the first two shows and made him do them.
