The Texas Organ Sharing Alliance is looking to raise awareness about giving the gift of live.

They will host a walk and a special prayer procession for those that are waiting for transplants this weekend.

Edwina Garza, with TOSA, is a donor in waiting and explained more about this event on Action 4 Sunrise.

The walk will be held Saturday, Nov. 10 from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. at La Feria High School Football Stadium.

A special prayer procession for the more than 116,200 men, women and children on the national transplant waiting list, will be held on Saturday, Nov. 10.

At 5:30 p.m., a special blessing will be made at a Mass for donor families, as well as pre and post transplant patients.

This will be held at the Basilica of Our Lady of San Juan del Valle. The Via Crucis, also known as the Stations of the Cross, will be held at 6:15 p.m. on church grounds.

Then came the hard part: asking her cousin for a part of her liver. In April, doctors told Jennifer that without a transplant she probably had a year to live. Jennifer, 37, was already on transplant waiting lists in two states, but it was going to take too long, they said. She needed to think about a living donor.
