For two families celebrating the lives of their loved ones, the Dash for Donation’s July 13 date holds special significance.

Team Adam’s Army and Team Brady will celebrate their donor’s birthdays on race day this year. Adam Wasielewski would have been 10 years old and the Wasielewski’s have recruited their largest team yet to participate. The 86 members of “Adams Army” will help form the sea of green in the Arena district to honor Adam’s legacy and the other heroes of organ, eye and tissue donation.

“On July 13, we will walk in Adam’s honor with his friends and family,” mom Marcia Wasielewski said. “On Adam’s birthday, we celebrate the gifts that he has given through donation and the gift of love that he has given us all. Adam’s Army will always march on!”Matthew Hesson Brady would have turned 26 on July 13. For the race’s Team Brady, sporting “What Would Matt Brady Do?” t-shirts, they hope everyone at the Dash is inspired by Matt to say yes to donation. The opportunity to join as a group and place Matt’s poster on the Donor Remembrance Wall will be an emotional but healing experience for friends and family.
